Growing up in North Carolina, I was raised on the robust, bold flavors of the South. After graduating from UNC-Chapel Hill, I worked in brand strategy in New York City for three years, placing me at the nexus of the culinary envelope.
In 2013, my husband and I moved westward to San Diego where I founded Cucina Coronado, a boutique farm-to-table catering company. The abundance of beautiful local produce and the proliferation of fresh, simple cooking techniques being celebrated in the local food scene inspired me to blend the styles of my youth and my newfound home, and the Southern California event industry took note. I quadrupled my annual sales revenue from 2014 to 2015 catering events from weddings to birthday parties from San Diego to San Francisco.
Cucina Coronado ignited my passion to develop and innovate recipes, a calling which led me to work with many brands and publications, including Coronado native and Food Network star Melissa d'Arabian. Food styling came as a natural extension of my experience making dishes look beautiful for Cucina Coronado, and soon I was developing, styling and photographing recipes for brands and publications including The New York Times, Eating Well Magazine, Food Network, Woodbridge by Robert Mondavi, Boursin Cheese, Kim Crawford Wine, Mark West Wines, Meiomi Wine, Shape Magazine, Self Magazine, Style Me Pretty, Men's Fitness, and many others.
I went on to work at one of the country's top culinary consulting firms, which taught me the ins and outs of culinary operations and strategy - knowledge that has helped me further hone my offering into one that provides strategy-driven results for my clients.
I currently live in Menlo Park, California with my husband, George, and our 2-year old labradoodle, Hooper.
