Balsamic Butter Mushrooms

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 – 2 pounds pound mushrooms 1/4-inch sliced
  • Kosher salt
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 3 thyme sprigs
  • 2 garlic cloves grated or minced
  • 2 teasponns balsamic vinegar
  • Sprinkle of minced chives

Instructions

  • Wash the mushrooms, it's fine to wash them under water!
  • Add them to your largest skillet over medium-high heat and sprinkle with salt. They'll release a lot of liquid, which will leave you with perfectly tender and chewy in the best way mushrooms. If the skillet is getting really full of liquid, crank the heat up to high to evaporate it off faster.
  • Once all of the liquid is gone (which will take anywhere from 5 to 10 mins), add the butter, thyme, and garlic. Sauté for a few more minutes. Season with salt and pepper.
  • Turn off the heat, then stir in the balsamic.
  • Transfer to a serving bowl and sprinkle with chives and flaky salt.
