Raspberry Jar-garita

8.9K

I have good news for you. If you have a jar of fruity jam stashed somewhere in the fridge or pantry, a bottle of silver tequila, and some citrus laying around, this DELIGHTFUL margarita can be yours within minutes.

Rather than using plain simple syrup in this jar-garita, I use a tablespoon of fruity jam. It gets me the sugar content I need to balance out the lime or lemon juice, plus it adds fruity flavor!

I used raspberry here, but absolutely any jam works.

HAPPY COCKTAILING!

Raspberry Jargarita

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup ice, plus more for serving
  • 1/4 cup cup silver tequila
  • 3 tbsp lemon or lime juice
  • 1 tbsp raspberry jam
  • Very bubbly water, for topping

Substitutes:

  • Silver tequila—> I highly prefer blanco/silver tequila, but if you like anejo or gold, use it!
  • Lemon or lime juice—> grapefruit juice would also work.

Instructions

  • Add ice, tequila, lime juice, and your favorite jam to an 8 ounce jar and shake vigorously to combine. Fill the jar with ice, then top with bubbly water. Garnish with citrus slices if desired.

Notes

  • No kidding – ANY JAM WORKS! Some favorites to pair with tequila: raspberry, strawberry, apricot, blackberry. Trader Joe’s has a new watermelon jam out for summer that I can’t wait to try with this!
  • This is DELICIOUS as a non-alcoholic beverage. Just leave out the tequila and you have a bubbly, fruity mocktail!
