I’m so excited to host a LIVE, totally interactive, digital cooking class to benefit No Kid Hungry on May 20th at 3pm PST/6p EST.
Why?
Food insecurity typically affects a staggering 1 in 7 young children in the US, but the effects of COVID-19, particularly school closures (at school, they are guaranteed meals) have rapidly bumped this statistic up to 1 in 5. NKH predicts it may rise to 1 in 4 in the coming weeks.
1 in 5 children in America are not getting enough food. They’re hungry. In our own backyards, in our own communities, kids are hungry.
I first learned about No Kid Hungry, an organization focused on ending childhood hunger, when I was working as Food Network Star Melissa d’Arabian’s assistant. She worked tirelessly for that organization, flying across the country to host events and attend fundraisers, sacrificing time with her own four amazing daughters to help children everywhere.
I knew then why her work with NKH was important, and I immediately fell in love with the organization, but their work means even more to me now that I’m a mother. The thought of Mattis being hungry for one day, even one minute, makes me want to scream. I would do anything to stop it.

Let’s get together – over Zoom – drink some wine, cook an INCREDIBLE one-pot meal that I can almost guarantee will go into the regular rotation at your house, and we’ll even put together a beautiful summery dessert that you can cook up while your family eats dinner.
I’ll answer ALL of your cooking questions, share what it’s like to work as a freelance recipe developer, share my favorite kitchen tools, and we will have FUN! I’ve been doing Zoom classes for corporate groups since SIP began, and we have a serious blast!
