Winter Citrus Margarita

1.1K

WINTER CITRUS MARGARITA! I LOVE margaritas. Like love them. And all flavors too. Luckily for us, most citrus fruits are their ripest and juiciest during North American winters. So winter is the perfect time to make a lovely tangy, citrusy margarita. Which is also perfect for ringing in the new year and not waking up hungover in 2021 because tequila is magic. The below recipe serves 2 people 2 margaritas each

Winter Citrus Margarita

Servings 2 drinks

Ingredients

  • 1 grapefruit
  • 1 orange
  • 1 lime
  • 1 lemon
  • Tequila
  • Orange Liqueur
  • Chili salt to rim the glasses
  • Egg White Optional, helps to make a lovely foamy drink

Instructions

  • Squeeze the juice of 1 grapefruit, 1 orange, 1 lime, and 1 lemon into a glass measuring cup. check how much juice is in there, then add equal parts tequila. if you don’t have a measuring cup, it’s probably around 3/4 cup juice, so add 3/4 cup tequila. throw in 1/2 cup of orange liqueur. if you want a special foamy margarita, throw in an egg white. Transfer everything to a jar or cocktail shaker and shake for 30 seconds, until foamy. Now add a few ice cubes and shake to cool things down. the ice will melt in there, that’s ok! it’s a part of the recipe. Rim a couple glasses with chili salt (1 tbsp salt and 1 tbsp chili powder stirred together), fill with ice, and pour it on in. enjoy! 🥳🤪
